There’s nothing like the convenience of grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge before you run out the door. They’re perfect to take to the office, gym or just about anywhere. All that convenience unfortunately comes at a price. Americans throw away about 60 million plastic bottles a day. It’s estimated that only 1 in 5 bottles are actually recycled. Sadly, those that aren’t end up in landfills. While in the landfill, a single plastic bottle can take up to 700 years before it starts composting – yikes!
Invention Girl is definitely for the conservation of the planet and I was thrilled when I came across this invention from Brandimage. The 360 Paper Bottle is made from mostly paper and 100% renewable food-safe resources. Since the bottle is completely biodegradable, it won’t sit in a landfill for centuries to come.
These bottles aren’t limited to only holding water either. Brandimage claims that these bottles can hold any type of liquid from water to soda to coffee. Another great feature is that they’re resealable so you don’t have to worry about carrying an open container everywhere. The bottle top, which incorporates a sanitary plug to reseal the bottle, is torn off at the top. Once the plug is removed, the torn paper stays attached to the bottle to eliminate litter.
Although these bottles don’t have the clear plastic look, they come in a variety of colors allowing you to choose the one that is most appealing. They’re colored with natural dyes and the logos are imprinted on the bottles keeping them environmentally friendly.
I’m hoping to see the major bottled water companies hop on this idea soon. Imagine the positive impact it would have on the earth!
