On Friday, June 21, InventHelp teamed up with Pittsburgh Cares to volunteer at South Allegheny Education Center. Their mission? To help transform the school from an early education center into a new education center for older students.

Pittsburgh Cares is an organization dedicated to bringing custom volunteer events and programs to companies in the Pittsburgh region. The organization helps connect volunteers to schools, parks and non-profits in need of a helping hand.

Pittsburgh Cares invited members of the InventHelp team to paint walls in order to bring a new atmosphere to the South Allegheny Education Center. The school, which previously catered toward younger children, is in the process of being turned into a place where older students can feel inspired and excited to learn.

“A big shout out to BNY Mellon, InventHelp, Pittsburgh Cares, SA Football Team, SA Varsity Girls Basketball Team, SA Faculty & Staff, and Parents for making HUGE progress on transforming the learning spaces at the new SA Education Center,” writes Holly Turkovic, Director of Youth Programs for Pittsburgh Cares.

Volunteers helped paint new rooms including a Student Union, Peace Room, and a new Teacher’s Lounge featuring a coffee bar. The school is set to open for the 2019-2020 school year.
