Sometimes, the name says it all. When you hear the name Armani, you probably think fashion and luxury. Now, you may think of designer cell phones, too.

Italian luxury goods designer Giorgio Armani has long been recognized as a leader in fashion, and now is looking to expand into the electronics niche.

Invention Girl has learned that Armani teamed up with Samsung Electronics to jointly create a line of luxury cell phones, flat-screen televisions and other electronic goods.

Unveiled last week at Armani’s spring and summer fashion show in Milan, the sleek touch-screen phone is about the size of a credit card. Multimedia features include a 3-megapixel camera, full internet browser and a multi-format music player.

The phone will first be offered in Europe. The companies plan to release an LCD television in January.

The recent launch of Apple’s iPhone raised the bar for cell-phone design and overall coolness. So, we at InventHelp are not surprised to see that high-end companies are choosing to align themselves with cell phone manufacturers.

In the United States and across the globe, cell phones are more popular than ever. How many people do you know without a cell phone today? Even my grandfather has one!

There will always be a portion of the market that will settle for nothing less than upscale, top-shelf products. In fact, Armani is only the latest upscale retailer to offer a cell phone. LG released a phone with Italian fashion retailer Prada, and Motorola teamed up with designers Dolce & Gabbana to create a gold-colored RAZR.

And unlike a pair of shoes or a designer bag, a cool cell phone goes with every outfit!
