After a particularly brutal and snowy winter, the scent of spring in the air has InventHelp’s Invention Girl daydreaming about how to spend these longer days in the sunshine. I’ve already committed to an uncountable number of charity walks, outdoor barbeques, and the mother of all summer commitments: camping trips.
An internal inventory of my camping supplies netted disappointing results: a leaking air mattress, and not so much as a tent or sleeping bag. Clearly, Invention Girl needed a camping makeover. I decided to hit the web to find out about the best new inventions for outdoor enthusiasts.
I’ll be honest – one of my favorite things about camping is the food! But who wants to lug a heavy iron skillet into the woods? Luckily, GSI Technologies has developed ultra-lightweight cooking gear to create a “gourmet backpacking” experience. I like the Bugaboo Mess Kit, which includes a 7.5-in dual-use frypan/lid, 1 qt. pot, 6-in Cascadian bowl, 12 fl. oz. Cascadian cup, DiamondBack gripper, and mesh bag.
These high-quality aluminum pots and pans are light enough for backpacking, yet heat evenly enough to satisfy the most demanding camp cook. Or, in my case, the cook who is used to working with an electric stove and forgets the power of campfire!
So, my camping cooking needs are met and all this talk of campfire treats has made me too hungry to look for a new tent! Check back soon for more springtime fun inventions from InventHelp’s Invention Girl.
