Road SMS App

InventHelp’s Invention Girls likes to text, a lot. I know the urge of wanting to continue a text conversation when walking out and about. Although I usually pause to type, I see quite a number of people walking and texting while I’m trying to get to and from the InventHelp office. It can be hard to avoid these sometimes reckless texters as they can have tunnel vision with their phone!

The Road SMS App is a tool that comes preloaded on the Samsung Galaxy S phone. It helps texting addicts avoid bumping into objects and people while walking to their destination. The app allows the texter to see what’s in front of them while typing a message. The app uses the phone’s camera to display an image what the texter is walking towards. The sidewalk you’re walking on actually becomes the message’s real-time background. Watch out – this app doesn’t help with peripheral vision so be careful crossing the street!

What do you think about this app? Is it a tool to help people stay constantly connected or is it promoting bad phone etiquette?
